COACHED THE PEACH KINGS IN 1968.   HE IS A FORMER NHL PLAYER WITH THE NEW YORK RANGERS AND TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS.    HE IS THE CURRENT OWNER OF CULLEN'S MOTORS IN ST. CATHARINES

 

" TOE "  BLAKE    ---  Did not play for the Peach Kings  --  he practiced here with Montreal

Toe was with the Hamilton Tigers in 1932.  He worked at National Steel Car Co. and then  while playing professional hockey he came home in the summer to work on his in-laws family farm on Winston Rd. ( Kelson and Baseline ) in Winona.   

Toe signed with the Montreal Maroons in 1935 and he came with the team for their summer training at the Grimsby Peach King arena.   Grimsby had excellent ice making equipment in the summer because of the fruit industry.  

BILL ROOKER

Peach Buds  -- 1936 - 1937 , 1937 - 1938 , 1938 - 1939

  Then he left to fight in the 2nd World War.  During the War he played on the Army Hockey Team.  After the war he went on to play Professional hockey in the International Ice Hockey Federation in Europe.  The team played all over Europe -- England, Paris, Sweden and Switzerland to crowds of 70,000 people in arenas twice the size of Maple Leaf Gardens.
