Last Regular Season Game for Some Special Players

On Friday February 23rd, the Grimsby Peach Kings played their final game of the 2023-24 regular season and will see 3 players dress for their final regular season game in a Peach King jersey.

The Peach Kings organization would like to thank Nico Balice, Brendan Kowaleski and your captain, Blake Venneri, for their commitment to the team both on and off the ice.

Nico Balice, from Niagara Falls, has played 2 seasons and a Grimsby Peach King and has become quite the fan favorite. Nico has been between the pipes for the Peach Kings in 28 regular season games while posting an impressive 0.930 save percentage.

Brendan Kowaleski, from Jordan, played his final regular season game in his 4th season as a Peach King. Brendan played a total of 101 regular season games and has been a staple to the Peach King back end.

Blake Venneri, from St. Catharines, is playing in his 3rd season in the Provincial Junior Hockey League, all while wearing the Peach King logo on his chest. Venneri was selected as the teams captain at the beginning of the season and shows leadership on and off the ice. Blake followed in his older brothers footsteps and came to Grimsby where he was welcomed with open arms. Blake has played in 114 regular season games as a Peach King and averaged 1.25 points per game during his career.

Please join us in congratulating these players for their great careers in the PJHL and for representing what it means to be a Grimsby Peach King.  But, remind them, we are not done yet.
